Hey Joris.

For testing you would need any type of camera that would output 1080i and do some slow pans and check for stutter using a PCIe card on a Windows 10 platform with a GTX 900 series card. I realize that we are rendering video here and don't expect it to be perfect but something is going on that hopefully can be resolved. I tried the decklink duo, decklink 4k pro and data video dual sdi cards

I figure I can rule out the card being faulty since I tried three types. I have just purchased the Thunderbolt EX II Dual that will give me the ability to test my mini recorders on the Windows 10 media center. ASUS has informed me that it is compatible with my motherboard ( Z170-WS).

I have had great results using the mini recorder with another demo application on my Macbook but its GFX ability is not up to spec for Resolume. I am hoping using thunderbolt exclusively for camera input will improve the situation and allow me to use your product.

I am so close to just buying a mac pro and just sticking with thunderbolt and see how Resolute behaves.

I'll let you know how the next test goes and keep me posted if you can test a 1080i signal.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!

I think we have most of the setup in-house or it can easily be borrowed.

I'll make a ticket to do some tests with this.

Howdy Joris. Checking in on any progress. I just tested a new setup on a mac pro ...one of those newer ones shaped like a tiny tube...running Yosemite dual firepro gfx. Same problem on this rig as well using the mini recorders with Resolume. I really what to use your software this Fall for screenblends. Primarily because I can use OSC to remote it with Just Macros by John Bengston and it is very easy to set up.

This is just additional information that may or may not help....with that said...I was able to use ProPresenter 6 from RenewedVision with this same setup and the camera output is excellent but not my first choice. Had so so results with their PVP app and it had some stutter.

Qlab is also working well and does not have the stutter issue on the mac rig.

Hoping your team will be able to get this improved with an update sometime soon.

Any news?

Thanks,

Dean

Thanks for checking in, Dean.

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, since it's unlikely this will be fixed on very short notice. We have to juggle a lot of tasks with a handful of people, and unfortunately live camera playback is not a priority at the moment.

We currently have a ticket to do the tests during the 5.x release cycle. Depending on what results that yields, the fix might be part of the same 5.x release cycle, be pushed forward to 6.x or, worst case scenario, left in the dreaded feature bucket.

So if your show depends on this particular feature to work before fall this year, it's best if you go with a different software solution.

Hello DeanPelton!
I also have the hitch/drag issue most of the times. Still struggling with it. However, in my case, i´ve noticed i usually have this problem when input signals are interlaced (even with the deinterlace checkbox on). When input is progressive, sometimes works smooth and only few times have hitchs. To bad that most of the guys i work with have the blackmagic switches that output 1080i.

Im on Windows, ssd drive and GTX 980, using Blackmagic´s decklink mini recorder. Also use magwell and avermedia, but have the same issue. However, issue is only on Resolume Arena in my case. Any other capture/record software work just fine with all capture cards.

Have you tried using other resolutions progressive vs interlaced and see how they behave?

Cheers!
Gazzo
