Hey, Was this resolved?
I'm having a somewhat similar problem.
I using Ableton Live to out put a long music track 50min, and triggering effects on a same lenght video clip running on Resolume Arena 5.
I'm syncing them using the OSX IAC Midi port.
The Audio and Video sync is drifting apart, on a scale I can't quite figure out or calculate. I tried retriggering the clip using cues, but after a minute of playing I can already notice the drift where video cuts are supposed to be on the beat.
The video was exported with no audio. And it plays in timeline mode (no audio).
Any leads? What am I doing wrong?
UPDATE:
I Played the same audio directly on Resolume, and as far as I can tell it has the same amount of drift. The audio plays faster than video.
resolume and ableton out of sync
Re: resolume and ableton out of sync
What codec and bitrate is the audio? I'm not sure how Live handles audio, but it's notoriously difficult to get compressed audio formats like MP3 and AAC to play back with accurate timing. It's a bit of a technical story, but internally they have variable bitrates, which makes it very hard to determine how long they actually are.
A good way to make sure both apps play in sync is to tell both the audio and video tracks to play in the same amount of beats and then sync Resolume's BPM to Live's.
