Two identicall midi controllers (akai midimix)

Post by motage »

Hi all,
I am using 2 akai midimix controllers at once. In preferences I can see both of them (they are both named "midimix" and they are checked). When I map first one theres no problems. But when I try to map something on the second one, midi controller doesnt respond. This situation is only when they are both connected in the same time. But when I connect only first one (or second one) they are working fine. Thanks for all ideas.

You should be able to set one of your midimix's to midi CH1 and the other to midi CH2.
This way you can use both in full function without overlapping.
I used to do this with 2 BCF2000's.

Are you on PC or mac ?
I know it's fairly easy to change the settings on mac.

The problem is that Resolume identifies midi controllers based on their name. So the moment you have two devices with the exact same name, it gets very confused.

We're aware that this can be annoying and hopefully we can get around to fixing this in the future. In general, using the same midi controllers is not that common, so we haven't put much priority on it.

In the meantime, if you change the name the second Akai Midimix has in the registry to something like Midimix 2, you should be good to go.

Hello everyone, would you recommend to a beginner buying an akai midimix?

I just had my midi mmix but resolume doesn’t recognise the controller in settings. Do I need to install any extra driver? Windows 10. Thanks
