Hi there,
I've had this problem for a while now where Avenue (4.6.2) freezes when I switch tabs. I managed to eliminate the problem for a while by making sure all the clips that use an alpha channel are set to the correct corresponding straight/multiplied setting, but now the bug is back with a vengeance. It seems to run smoothly until I add a new clip to my project. All the clips I make use DXV3. Looks pretty random... I use an ASUS ROG GL552VW with all drivers updated to the latest version, and an ESI Maya44 USB+ for sound. Help!
Avenue freeze when switching tabs
Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
According to the log that you sent directly to us (thanks for that btw!), it looks like you're running an Intel HD Graphics 530 on this computer. Unfortunately that GPU is lower than our minimum required specs to run Resolume, and you can run into all sorts of unexpected behaviour when you do.
Resolume is a very intensive, high end, professional graphic software. It does more heavy lifting than for instance After Effects or Premiere combined. So you really benefit from using a computer with a good, dedicated GPU.

Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
Thanks for the reply Joris. Even if there's a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M on board?
Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
It's very possible that there's an Nvidia on board, but according to the log, Resolume is not using it.
You can start using the Nvidia card by right clicking on Arena and choosing "Run with powerful graphics processor" from the context menu.

Found it, thanks. I'm going to run some tests, hopefully this will solve the problems!
Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
Hi,
I set the GPU to NVIDIA, but the crash still happens... In the log it says that the NVIDIA is being used, but also that I'm running Windows 7. I'm using Windows 10 Home. Don't know if that matters... Do you have more suggestions?

Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
For me no matter wich resolume version or Win PC im using.
If i change the Tab i always get a freeze. No matter how "strong" the PC is.
All my clips are rendered in DXV but i use a lot of them per tab.
Never tired reducing it and make more tabs out of it.
I use 8 Layers with max of 64 Clips per Layer.
Thats far too much for flawless Tab change i think.
But even if i reduce it to the half, it still freezes for a moment while switching the tab.

Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
Yah, I only use Tabs for artists not during performances because of that. My biggest problem with resolume.HI5 wrote:For me no matter wich resolume version or Win PC im using.

Re: Avenue freeze when switching tabs
I always hope it freezes beat sync. I change the Tabs while playing. Does not really matter in club atmo.
Im not aware of what is causing this. Maybe 2 SSDs and splitting the video archive would help.
Or maybe it is ram related and we have to hope for a 64bit version.
