It sounds like you are using one of the two relative encoders on the Mk2. These would need to be mapped in Relative mode.

Can you indicate clearly which rotary you are trying to assign a shortcut for?

Yes, that is one of the two relative encoders.

Change the setting of the shortcut like this:

Hi Joris,

I tried setting up the APC40 mk2's tempo knob in the way described in the image, but I can't get the BPM to behave properly. The value skips between 5.92 and 500, with no values in between. Any advice?

(I'm using Avenue 4.2.1.)

First I see you are using Composition map and not "Application map" like Joris.

I am no mapping expert as I am just starting out too. But I was able to make the tempo know work with these settings.

Thanks for the reply, DHoude!

I tried the settings you posted –

But no luck... it's still just skipping between the two extremes (5.92 and 500). Are you using Arena? Anyone else had success with the tempo knob on the APC40 mk2?

Those settings work perfect for me on that Tempo knob (Top right, under session button). Just like my signature says APC40 MKII & Arena 5.1.3

I have a feeling you have to erase your old Composition map settings that you were using earlier. I bet those are still in place. Go to Composition midi map, right click your BPM and select "Clear shortcut". Just make sure that none of the other map settings are also accessing that knob.

If not, maybe erase your Application map just in case you have some other mapping tied to that knob?

Also I am running Win 10 64 bit. What OS are you using? Wondering if there is some driver issue. I inspected our two screen shots and can't see any other reason.
