Hello! Does anyone know if it's possible to blend two projectors in the same position? I don't want to extend the composition size, but my aim is to double the brightness.
Maybe if I blend two projectors exactly in the same position and I don't enable "soft edge" feature I can reach some results.
Has anyone ever tried?
Thank you!:)
two projectors = twice the brightness?
Re: two projectors = twice the brightness?
Yes, it is "possible".
Consider that most 3D projections on movie theaters uses a two projector solution, perfectly aligned.
And yes, that would be sort of twice the brightness.
But will be very tricky to properly align both.

Yes you can stack 2 or 3 projectors to increase the brightness but will make your job easier when it's time to line up all these pixels.
Here is a list of what will make your life easier to do so:
- having both vertical and horizontal lens shift
- having a stacking rig with micro adjustment to position the projectors in relationship to one another
- having onboard warping will definitely make the job go faster
- having a projector with high contrast ratio will help.
Also keep in mind that:
- the brightness increase is theoritical so you won't get exactly twice or three times the brightness but it will be brighter
- blacks will be brighter as well so your video black will be much more noticeable.
- if you line up your projectors in software, your pixels won't be lined up so you won't get a crisp image but in most cases you can focus on the center area and get sloppy around the edges without people noticing too much

Re: two projectors = twice the brightness?
Thank you for your answers!
Yes, maybe it could be a little bit tricky, but with this method I will have more brightness at lower price, and two indentical projectors that could be used separately too.
The projector in question is the Epson EB-U04 ( https://www.epson.it/products/projector ... son-eb-u04 )
It's so small, so the two lenses will be very close together, and I'm going to build a rig with micro adjustment.
The only "dark side" of this projector is the black level, it seems to be not so.. dark, maybe it's not a good idea to blend two projectors with a black level like that.
