Post by eon Vi-Sinch »

My performance is made a lot of live cam so i ask u only this question:
is possible to have the live camera without close and restart resolume when the cam for some reason get off, or the firewire cable become unplug???
Every time i can use the cam untill it go down , because i can't restart resolume during a show!!
Please give me some signal! it's possible to have the live feed after it go down?? it's something possible via software this features??? as soon as the cam is recognized by windows the cam become on-line also in resolume.

THIS IS MY MAJOR ASK TO U!! (i have already buy this fantastic software!)
Have u got some tip for a secure attach of the firewire cable to the camera???? i have a 20 metres firewire cable but it's so heavy and so unstable!??!?! there is any suggestion about?!

i was using 2 firewire cameras as a test once, all you have to do if they come unpluged is delete the clip that its on, and drag them in from the sources tab again

hello levon,
and does this work for u???????
i'm really sure that this is the problem, if i cancel the live feed from the desk and bring it from the avaible source it doesn't work because it's freeze in the last frame before the cam become unplugged and only with a restart of resolume the cam start to work again.
Please tell me if it's a problem with my system or the dv in work at all as work for me.

you can make sure that the dv camera does not switch off (standby) by leaving the tape drawer open.
this ios only usefull if you don't want to record with your cam of course.

cheers

ok ok i know that if i have the cam open it doesn't shut down, but my problem is the firewire cable that sometimes be unplugged and so the cam shut down and yesterday night i've try to cancel the cam in my desk and recall it from the source avaible but the cam was black and i can't access to it untill i restart resolume.

Please give me some more signal i really really need a more flexible camera, something plug and play in resolume.
Could u make something about in resolume?!?!?!?!??!?!

Having the camera closed, but without a Tape is usually sufficient for it not to turn off.

Leaving a camera open is not wise.

How long do you think your tape mechanism will last when exposed to club "atmosphere"?

Stay safe.

I use a usb 2 tv card, so i input analog signal, i can plug the cabe out and back in and the camera stil shows in resolume. Culd be an option, but maybe its more simple to secure the cable to the camera...

I used to use multiple dv inputs - but after years of this, and dealing with the problems of it (short cable length, crashing if signal lost, and too much cpu to process) I went ahead and bought several tv cards and usb capture devices. Running the cameras through these yeilds MUCH better results. Less delay, NEVER lose a camera, better frame rate, more cpu power to run other effects or clips. Personally, I'd migrate away from firewire with resolume. I now use 3 cameras via tv cards, and a usb 2.0 webcam. Everything works great now...

Can you monitor DV camera? When I drag "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR" in 1 it's black and can't see the stream. Only when I pess 1 I see it in the main screen. If I have 3 cam I want to see all of them and choose one of them to output. How can I do this.?
