question, with all this SMPTE talk, is it possible to "lock" (cap) the frame rate yet?
thanks!
Capping Resolume's fps
Re: Capping Resolume's fps
Why would you like to cap the frame rate when you are working with SMPTE?

Re: Capping Resolume's fps
mutually exclusive, not necessarily working with SMPTE - but I use resolume on film sets and since the cameras are running at 24/23.976fps/etc having the composition run at 50-120+fps etc isn't ideal, can get some tearing or artifacting on cameras sometimes. In some cases this means we need to use other software, would be nice to be able to stick with resolume more often!

I'm not sure if capping the framerate in Resolume will prevent rolling shutter artefacts, because the actual display is still refreshing at a mismatched Hz value.
The only way to prevent this is to match your camera's recording fps and your display's refresh rate. With vsync enabled, Resolume will cap to your display refresh rate automatically.

this topic may have relevant information which may help with your issue.

could you post some frames of the recorded footage that shows the artefacts you are describing?

Re: Capping Resolume's fps
thanks, we usually are using Alexa yes - it's generally not an issue but occasionally you can see on-camera 'stutter' even though the frame rate is quite high, it's just variable IE not locked.najrock wrote:use a motion mount or an Alexa
yes, you can use vsync but that can cause other issues as well.. having a cap is a "it would be nice" feature.
