Quickest way from images/animation to DXV?

Hi there! I'm making stop motion animations in Photoshop by saving one and one image at a time. I've tried rendering in Photoshop to Quicktime movie file, and then open this file in Quicktime to export it to DXV file format - but the video file is just white/blank. I've tried converting the .mp4 file I get from Photoshop to DXV through Streamclip, but Streamclip tells me "can't prepare video file".

So! I basically have a bunch of images I want to use as an animation in Resolume. How would you go about doing this? I know I could use the Adobe Media Encoder to somehow convert the outcoming video from Photoshop to DXV, but I don't have the cash for Media Encoder, so looking for alternatives.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

are you saving your pictures as a single frame image, or are you making an animation in photoshop and saving that as a animation movie file?

Have you tried exporting as an animated gif and then converting that?

Hey! Thanks for your answer. I'm doing both, actually. Saving as single frames, but then importing them back into Photoshop (with the timeline feature) and rendering as video.

I haven't tried exporting as GIF yet, I just imagine the quality would be pretty bad, but maybe not? I'll give it a go.

I downloaded a trial of Adobe Media Encoder, and got it working just fine with that (after reading a good tip on here about it), but not sure how long the trial lasts (it doesn't really say in the program).

I just tested exporting several video made from PNG files with Photoshop on a Mac running 10.12.3 and I can open them no problems with Quicktime 7 Pro, Quicktime 10.4 Player and MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b8.

Are you on a PC or a Mac?

Are you running the most current version of Photoshop which is 2017.0.1 release?

Hey! Thanks. I'm on Photoshop CS6. I can also open the video rendered in Photoshop in QuickTime, but when exporting from QuickTime to dxv the video file turns up just white in resolume. I cant get streamlip to export the file to dxv at all.

Are you exporting in Animation High Quality codec as progressive with straight alpha channel rendering? If not that would be my recommendation.

I tested upper field and lower field priority out of Photoshop and reversed the re-rendering in MPEG Streamclip and it still renders correctly.

Also, if your DXV files turn white in Resolume, it's possible you've rendered with a white alpha matte in Photoshop and it is covering your whole clip so make sure you've rendered in progressive and set the clip to progressive in Resolume.
