Mapping Groups?

Post by bdjcevents »

I'm dipping my toe in the world of mapping, I've set up a test with 3 cubes staked on top of each other, this gives me 6 surfaces. I've mapped the 6 surfaces and all works OK.
What I am now trying to work out is how to "group" them, by this want I mean at the moment each surface shows the media, what I now want to do is show the media on the left or right stake of cubes (using 3 surfaces) or across all the surfaces (6 surfaces ) but I can't seem to work it out.

How do I set it up to do this?

Thanks in advance

There are many ways to achieve what you're trying to accomplish but none of that will be done in the Advanced Screen Setup interface.

Here is a couple of approaches:

1) use your composition as a palette and create your artwork in sections in photoshop/after effect. So for instance, in your case, it would get divided in thirds and each third is assigned to one of the surface. You can expand easily expand this so that each section has more than one type of content.

2) use layer to slice technique and manage your content by changing clips.
