midi mapping mode behaviour

I'm currently working on a project which involves extensive MIDI mapping. This means that I'm often working on let's say one layer effect on a stack of 16 effects. As soon as I go into MIDI mapping mode, the interface defaults to the top of the stack so I have to scroll all the way back down to find the effect that I wanted to assign MIDI to. When I finish with my MIDI mapping its the same thing again, the interface resets itself to the top of the stack.
After working on this project for a while constantly tweaking MIDI assignments, I'm finding this behaviour frustrating beyond belief as I'm spending considerable amounts of time scrolling up and down trying to find the parameter that was in front of me a second ago!

Yeah, I can see how this would get tiresome after a while.

I was hoping that this was going to get resolved in the last release but no luck. It really is incredibly frustrating and inefficient and I assume that it would be simple to fix. Please, please!!!!
