Hi,
I'm attempting to find a way to (semi) accurately represent my projector inside of Cinema 4D for pre-viz purposes.
I imagine I can do this with a light / texture but not entirely sure it will match or what figures to put in.
Sorry for the OT... Just throwing out there since we're all VJ's and mappers on this forum. If anyone has any thoughts or tips would be most appreciated.
Best,

set up your camera to have the same FOV as your projector,
go to Window - Projection man
in Projection man window you'll see your objects and your cameras,
drag one of your objects to which you want to project, under your camera-projector,
in the contextual menu, select Load image, then select an image that you'll be projecting.
select image as background and as alpha if your image has alpha.
to add other object, drag them under your image, no need to reselect image now.
you should see the image on your objects now if you render.

Thanks for the reply ravensc..
I totally get the theory and these are great tips, yet I'm stumbling at the start since the only info available for the projector is details like "throw ratio" or "image size". Looking through the manual there is no mention of the projectors FOV, sensor size etc, just info on where you can place your projector to make the screen a certain size etc.
Has anyone got a formula or way of translating the terminology into something logical for a C4D camera? Would be REALLY helpful. If I find anything I'll share here.
