Arrangeing different footage on multiple massive screens

Post by pkpictures »

Hopefully the subject is not to confusing. But ive been wondering about this for awhile.

I vj huge screens. 12k plus and usually multiples of them. Each show i do has a different setup, but its guaranteed to be atleast a massive resolution, and most deff multiple screens. I usually create all content for these shows in c4d and after effects and render out native resolution or half and scale up to keep my frame rate up. And i generally play up to 4 loops and trigger 4 one shots at a time (8 layers total playing at once).

Now on to the question. I have to have full comp animations most of the time, but is there a way, on another layer perhaps that i could have a 16:9 video sliced up and distributed among the screens without having to play full rez clips. For example, if i have 5 screens. 2 on the left are vertical 16:9 the center is 5760x1080 and the right are vertical 16:9. And i want to play the same clip on all the verticals *except i want each of them rotated a different direction. And have the center clip playing a completely different clip all together

The issue that im having now is that since the screens are so big i usually have to output atleast the outputs to datapaths before they go to the spyder. So usually my output slices are to the muliple screens. I can elaborate more if this isnt making sense, just wondered if it was an option?

Thank You
