Hey Resolume Fam,
Been awhile since I've dove into video hardware and want to see what you all are doing for the following:
Looking for low cost but not crappy solutions to get a DJ cam input (or 2) to mess with. Wall is only 800x600 so dont really need HD. It seems in the world of SDI/HDMI there are no inexpensive solutions (in the couple hundred dollar range).
I used to have an arsenal of composite/svideo of cat5 cameras 'back in the day' with decent sony 1/3" CCDs that could see pretty good in low light. Looking for the modern equivalent of that.
Anyone successfully using a DVR rig or something along that line?
I guess it should be said this particular need is on a PC desktop with riser card space.. so internal is okay (but I'd be curious for external options as well).
thanks in advance!
What are you doing for video cam input
Re: What are you doing for video cam input
Black magic mini recorder. Hdmi or SDI input. Cheap as expensive chips.
Re: What are you doing for video cam input
I concur with Empyfree, the DeckLink Mini Recorder is probably going to be your best bet to capture one SDI/HDMI source.
If you need to capture two, rather than getting two DeckLink Mini Recorder cards, I would consider looking into the Deckling Duo 2. It's more expensive but you'll get more a lot more functionality for your money.

Re: What are you doing for video cam input
On the very cheap side, my 1 channel EasyCap has served me well for composite signals, it's USB2 and small enough to have always in my backpack.
My Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB3, has HDMI, composite, component, s-video, in/out, works also good with resolume.
My main problem with it is that when the signal is degraded, it tends to drop frames, and shows black, while the EasyCap holds the last frame, so for wireless composite I would use the EasyCap any day.
Pro for the Intensity is that you can use it as output if you don't use it as input, giving you more flexibility.

Another great portable unit is the Blackmagic Design UltraStudio SDI. It's a little bit more expensive ($375) but has both HD/SD-SDI input & output and HDMI monitoring output. Blackmagic doesn't carry it anymore but you can still buy them through retailers like B&H.

Love mine. The only thing I wish it had was 1080p @ 60 support

Re: What are you doing for video cam input
Isn't OP asking about cameras specifically?
Re: What are you doing for video cam input
I think we took as if he's looking for hardware to get the cam signal into Resolume.

Re: What are you doing for video cam input
Yeah, but then this line is specifically about cameras again. I'm confused
