Hello!
I'm looking for a way to trigger DMX (over Art-net) with the audio gain from a videofile.
Is it possible to somehow link the gain of the clip to a DMX channel. So low gain gives a lower DMX output and a high gain gives a full DMX output.
DMX Trigger with audio Gain
Re: DMX Trigger with audio Gain
Yes,
-create a solid colour(i prefer white.)
-Hook the opacity up to audio FFT. The white square now flickers depending on the audio level.
-In advanced output create a RGB dmx fixture that references that layer with the solid and now RGB channels will flickers to audio level, the louder the brighter.

Re: DMX Trigger with audio Gain
In your case, you will have to split your video in two clips (one for audio and one for video) then add the solid color (white as Drazker mentioned) to the audio file. To do that, just drag the Solid Color from Sources on your audio clip.
Make sure you select clip under Audio FFT and you might want to select the midrange section for best reactivity. Click on the arrow next to the + sign and select M.

Re: DMX Trigger with audio Gain
Thanks a lot! I worked for a short period of time. Now ik automaticly mutes the whole composition. Any idea's?

Did you set your composition volume to react to composition FTT by accident?
