Alpha Input

Post by thetylerherron »

Does anyone know of a way to capture a Key/Fill pair into resolume? Via SDI. I want to take an input from our graphics machine spitting out a feed from ProPresenter.

Or I suppose the real question is is there a way to tell resolume that "this SDI input" is the alpha channel for "this other SDI input?"

you could:
use the fill on layer 1 in a clip
use the key on layer 2, set layer 2 blend mode to 50 mask an set layer 2 opacity to 100%
add a Layer router from the sources to layer 3, and launch it.
add a Solid Color to layer 4 set it to 0/brightness to create a black fill over the keyed content,
then create another few layers for your content,
and on the top layer place another Layer Router and point it's input to layer 3, this Layer Router will be your keyed input.
If I'm not mistaken...

I was afraid of a solution like this, but this would work. I'm not super fond of having so many layers, but that seems to get what I want out of the software. Thanks ravensc!

Can you run both programs on the same Mac? Pro presenter syphon out works a treat.

Yeah, I'm going to be doing that in another venue, but this venue has the graphics computer (Mac) in another room, and this computer (PC, which ProP doesn't support Spout which is frustrating). Also, I need to use Resolume's mapping function to map and blend two projectors while sending another feed to our side screens.

It'd be lovely if ProP had some better mapping features, or at least some better output capabilities for broadcast switchers.

It's a good idea though, empyfree. I just found this feature not too long ago and it's very cool.
