I am running Resolume Arena 5 through Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K. I cannot get audio to output from Resolume to the Blackmagic. Although, I can output other applications such as youtube and itunes to blackmagic no problem. I am outputting from my Mac through mini display port.
My buffer is set to 1024. The volume slider is turned up on the clip. But when I go to audio preferences, and try to select output device, my options are built-in output, display port, and blackmagic ultrastudio 4k. I want to select the blackmagic as my output. But resolume will not allow me to select blackmagic. I can click on it, but it just goes back to the previous selection.
I contacted Resolume and they told me, "Resolume does't support audio through any card. So you will have to output audio through another source." Why is there an option for audio output in the program then?
Any solutions?
No Audio Output Resolume Arena 5
Re: No Audio Output Resolume Arena 5
Quick and easy solution:
On your mac, open Audio MIDI Setup, create an aggregate device by clicking on the [+] sign at the bottom left, select Blackmagic Audio (and whatever other output you want, so for instance you could pair the built-in output with your blackmagic), and name the aggregate device.
Then in Resolume, open audio preferences, and select the aggregate device you created in the [Audio Output Device] list.
Voila!
You could also try Soundflower. It's no longer officially supported but it seems to work fine.
Or splurge and buy Loopback.
