LED strips
So I have my pixel controller controlling 7 ws2811 led strips from 7 ports. Port one has 300, and the rest all have about 25. How do i set this up in resolume? Ima bit confused on how the lumiverse works. I guess theres a few things in dont really understand yet. Like how do I change the amount of pixels for each port. What a port is associated with? Do i need 7 lumiverses if I am using 7 ports? So clarification would be helpful thanks
Re: LED strips
One lumiverse is 512 channels of DMX data. it's a virtual universe, you can patch to a Universe.
In a Lumiverse you can place fixtures. The channel configuration of the fixtures tells resolume how the channel values have to be calculated.
So if you have physical RGB pixels/channels in this order on your strip controller then create a fixture in resolume's fixture editor with RGB pixel, and set the row and column layout of the fixture to your led strip's layout.
You also need to know how that 300 and 25 leds are assigned to dmx/artnet input in your controller for this.
300 RGB pixels don't fit into a single universe of dmx data, so creating a 1x300 RGB fixture in resolume, won't work.
Artnet pixel controllers usually have a web interface where you can change their setup.
If you know how the channel layout/assingment is done in the controller, you can create the same layout in Resolume lumiverse, then set the lumiverse output to the correct universe and subnet.
