Text block requires video router?

Post by Zenithik »

Hey all,

Kind of confused here. When I drop either a Text Block or Text Animator as a clip (not an effect) into the clip triggers area, it auto generates a video router. I assume that is necessary to allow the Text Block to act as a clip, but the issue the video router requires an input. Unless that input is a blank .png or something, that means the text block has a background tied to it which is whatever input layer you've selected.

So is there a way to have a standalone text block without the video router, or can you set the video router to not take any input? Thanks.

Are you droping it in from the sources tab? When I drop in one on my comp there is no router. Not sure what you're doing.

Ah yeah, that was it. Duh. I was dropping it from the FX panel into the grid, not from sources. Thanks!
