More knobs for dashboards.

Post by Dcpresson12345 »

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section. I dont even know if this is possible but thats why I'm asking. So what I'm wanting to do is essentially is link individual parameters to individual knobs on the dashboard. Only problem I'm finding is that I'm finding more than 8 parameters I'm wanting to control. Any way around this? I didnt know if maybe some kind of layer routing or something? Thanks guys.

You can have more parameters assigned to the same dashboard control, if that helps you out.

Another thing you could do if you are assigning effect controls would be to place the effects to be individual effect clips on a layer above your playing content, then you could have the clip Dashboards for each effect clip separately.

Edit:
Of course you can map any parameter to a midi control input you'd like, it doesn't have to be connected to a dashboard dial.

Ahhh I guess I never thought of that. So you're saying when I'm in midi map mode and everything is yellow. Click the parameters I'm wanting then twist my knob? Verses clicking whichever dashboard dial, then my knob?

Exactly, anything that's colored, can be mapped.
Check out the shortcut targets you can choose.
For example "Selected..." targets will always change the parameter on a clip that's selected. Let's say you'd want to map a scale parameter of clips, you would select one clip, enter midi mapping, click on the clip scale you want to map, turn your knob on your controller, leave shortcut target on "Selected Clip" exit midi mapping.
Now the clip that you have currently selected at any time, will be scaled when you turn your knob.
Select another clip, then that clip will be scaled.
We have a nice section on the support page explaining midi mapping in detail here: https://resolume.com/support/en/midi-shortcuts
