Hey there,
I got the following problem: When playing a rather large video clip, having the transport on BPM Sync and the playback set to "Random", the video just jumps to cuts at the beginning or the end of the video. Everything in the middle is not played at all. That isn't my association of randomness at all.
Well, at least not my association of uniformly random. It more looks like a drunken walk random function defined in range [-1, 1], with 1 beeing 10 seconds in the clip and -1 beeing the last 10 seconds (Python-esque array access).
I've also experienced this in Resolume 5 and found that the same problem existed in 2005, in 2011 (saying it's on the radar) and in 2012.
Don't confuse this with "true random vs drunken walk random". I like the drunken walk randomness, it adds a little bit more stability to the video playback. What I mean is, that the playback never jumps to video cuts in the middle of the video.
[Resolume 6] Random Playback of long clips not uniformly distributed

Hey tschnz,
We found this the other day ourselves and we are aware of it. We are working on it. Thank you for notifying us this issue!
