dropping in clip from comp off other computer

I loaded my composition from another computer and when I try to drag in a clip, res6 hangs and there is a small grey loading bar. I'm then unable to trigger any of my clips but transition sliders and stuff work

Strange, I see this sometimes too when I try to reconnect media, have yet to find out what triggers it.
How big is this file?
is it DXV?

Are your computers both running the same OS?

Yes the file is DXV3 no more than a gig in size. No it’s coming from win10 to win8.1. It does this problem on win 8.1. For now I’m starting from scratch in new comp and redoing every cuepoint and effect
