Hey guys, Im having some trouble getting my HDMI capture device to work well with resolume.
The Device
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... i_usb.html
Basically, I connected my Macbook Pro (Input Device) to my iMac Pro running Resolume Arena 5. I can get the Macbook pro to appear in resolume, however the lag is far too much for it to be usable in a live event. I'm taking about a whole 1 second delay.
Secondly, I can't seem to get any audio from the Macbook as well.
My Macbook pro's output is at 1080p 60Hz.
Would really appreciate if anyone could advice me on the matter. Is it a capture card issue?
Problems using a USB Capture Card
Re: Problems using a USB Capture Card
I heard of Magewell fakes/clones (Rybozen, DIGITNOW..ect...)... which do operate very badly. So make sure you don't own one of them.
For testing....can you try to using a regular webcam to test if you also get 1s delay? I ask because the Magewell also uses DirectShow like any webcam does
With the Magewell Dongle I get round abound 4 frames delay. With a LogitechWebcam 10 frames. But not a second.
Topic Audio... sorry.. never tried sending audio into Resolume. I don't even know if this is possible.....anyone?
Best wishes

Re: Problems using a USB Capture Card
Audio from capture devices can't be played in Resolume.Xilvera wrote:Secondly, I can't seem to get any audio from the Macbook as well.
Audio might be available however for FFT animation.
Which of these would you like to do that doesn't work?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies guys. @Zoltan thanks for the information, I did not know I could not capture the audio from the capture card. My Resolume plays audio from my other clips just fine.
@cosmowe I'm pretty sure my Magewell is legit. I got it from Bhphotovideo. I will do a test with the webcam and update here. Thanks so much for your help guys.

What happens when you go to QuickTime and select new recording? Do you see similar latency?Xilvera wrote:Hey guys, Im having some trouble getting my HDMI capture device to work well with resolume.

Re: Problems using a USB Capture Card
Hi guys, thanks for all your help. I restarted my system and suddenly all is well. Might have been a driver issue that was resolved once the system was restarted. Thank you guys for all your help!
