Transform FX - strange behavior ?

Post by cosmowe »

Hi there,
I don't really get what happens there :) Seems like a weird feedback behavior. Can you tell me if this is expected?

Arena 6.0.7

- Open new Comp 1080
- Add a 1080 clip to layer 2
- Add "transform fx" to layer 3
- Trigger clip on layer 2 and the fx on layer 3
- Set Input to "preview" of the "transform" fx
- Set "rotation" to 5° of the "transform" fx
- Click preview clip on layer 2
- Click preview fx on layer 3

You should get something like this - A blured out spinning wheel.

Best wishes

So you're watching the slightly rotated preview of the transform FX clip that shows the slightly rotated preview of the transform FX clip that shows the slightly rotated preview of the transform FX clip that shows...

Yes I'd expect a rotating feedback like this. ;)

Still two questions... :)
....why is it rotating constantly? ...the rotation is fixed before previewing the preview which is previewing the preview
....and why does a fullscreen clip gets round and gets and alpha circle?

greetings

..previewing the rotated texture then rotates it again with a slight delay of 1 frame. And again.
This looks like as if it's moving.

You get a circle that is exactly the same height as the composition, the transparent edges come from the rotation of the rectangular input you start with..

Set the composition to 1 fps and you'll see frame by frame what happens.
