How can I clear a specific midi key?

Post by brodie »

I have an APC40 mk2. By default the "Bank Select" buttons will trigger the next/previous column. I want to clear that functionality but I can't figure out where that button would be for me to set it, so I can't figure out how to clear it.

So specifically, how would I clear that key in particular. But more generally, is there a way for you to quickly clear a key without having to find out what it's doing and tracking it down?

Generally you could find out what note or message your midi controller sends, by opening the Midi inspector in Preferences and push the midi button you look for.
Then, once you know what message you are looking for you can go into Midi Shortcut editing, and sort the shortcuts by right clicking on one of them in the list and selecting sort by message.
This will allow you to find the shortcut easily.

Or Just go to Midi Shortcuts, sort by midi message and map the button again.
You get the new shortcut placed next to the original shortcut you wanted to find, so you can now delete both.

For your particular case you'd be looking for the Composition Connectnextcolum and Composition Connectprevcolum shortcuts.

All you have to do is select the shortcut and hit delete on your keyboard.
