How do you remove the audio wave from the thumbnail

Post by brodie »

I have a deck with some music videos in it. Some of them have the audio wave completely covering the thumbnail. Others HAVE audio, but don't display the wave on the thumbnail. I guess I did something at some point unintentionally which cleared the wave from the thumbnail, but I don't know what that was to be able to recreate it for my other videos.

Note that I do want to keep the audio. I just don't like it covering up my thumbnail.

There is no option to hide the Audio waveform from the thumbnail currently.

I guess the files where you don't see the waveform in the thumbnails start with a few seconds silence?

I don't have the clips in front of me but I can think of at least one clip where that is indeed the case. So if a clip starts with silence, it won't display the waveform? It may be a bit of a hassle, but maybe I can use that info as a workaround. Consider the ability turn off the display of the waveform over the thumbnail a feature request at any rate - having the thumbnails covered up not only messes with me on an OCD level but also makes the thumbnail sort of useless in cases where the waveform covers the entire thumbnail. If there must be some indication of the clip having audio (which I can see why you'd want that), my preference would be to just have a thin green line along the bottom of the thumbnail or something like that. It would still visually let you know that the clip has audio, but wouldn't obscure the thumbnail. I can see no benefit of displaying the actual waveform itself in the thumbnail.

The clip thumbnail's waveform displays the beginning of a clip only, around 1 seconds I believe.
We'll consider some customization options for the thumbnail.
