processsor use only at %50

I just got a new notebook yesterday specifically for video stuff. It's a p4 3.2Ghz Prescott 1MB Cache 800FSB HT - 512 ddr400 kingston ram - 7200 60GB - ati 9700 mobility 128 - W2k sp4 - prcs:640x480, oupt:800x600 32bit

here's my problem or question though. When I watch my process monitor, it seems to be running at only %50 usage. I thought resolume basically used all the processor like a video game and kept it all ready, but even with full effects on 3 layers, the processor monitor never tops %50. It seems to be running pretty well, but i was curious about this readout. (It is HT and both halves show %50)

Hi Nexusintent,
you are the firsty one saying that it runs on 50% percent while other people are allways asking why it runs at 99-100%.
I don't why it runs on 50% on your machine, it allways runs more or less a 100% on ours.

Interesting!!

i was wondering if this happens to anyone eles, My comp specs are prety much the same HT 3.2 GHZ P4, pci-x g-force6800, 7200 rpm disc, 512 ddr ram, i cant get the cpu to go over 55% mostley its 40% plus.

And it stays the same even with my new clips 45 sec of Pal resolution with PIC mjpg, three layers with all the effect slots running diferent efects...

i think it's the HT. I have also an P4 Prescott. Does Resolume support Dual-CPU's?

we don't support dual-cpu...
but your operating system does....so maybe it's the o.s that put's resolume in it's own thread or soemthing..
i will have to look into hyperthreading to know what it does.

So for best performance, should we be turning off hyper threading until Resolume supports it ??
