Re: POST YOUR GIG COMPUTER RIGS!
depends how many inputs/outputs are needed (and how many need to be the same system as there doesn't seem to be a perfect way to sync between systems still) and resolution/frame rate etc... for example can't do high refresh rates/low resolutions with the SDI cards so sometimes need to go VGA.. really any of the systems can get re-configured per-jobxdjxklusivex wrote:

Which one would you recommend to use for capturing 2 Cameras HD, 2 Laptops for Powerpoint/Keynote 2 laptops with video images and sending a blend of 4 projectors or LED video wall inputs everything running on ARENA?
Im currently looking to build with the following:
ASUS Prime x99 Deluxe Motherboard
Intel CORE i9-7940X
Rijaws 64GB DDR4 3000MHZ
2x BlackMagic decklink quad2
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
2x Samsung 960 EVO 1TB SSD
is this an overkill?

Re: POST YOUR GIG COMPUTER RIGS!
the biggest problem you'd run into is scaling from the inputs/outputs of the powerpoint/keynote laptops I think - have had some issues when feeding stuff like that from a mac mini via HDMI to SDI adapters into resolume then out of resolume to another SDI to HDMI converter to a monitor - if it's a lower resolution display (under 1080p) it's fine but if it's 1080p+ text/gradients can be weird. it's doable but just need to make sure everything is synced up settings wise, might need some better sdi2hdmi/hdmi2sdi scalers like a decimator md-hx for example. the camera feeds should be no issue though!KREATIVO wrote:Very nice set ups, admiralperpetual wrote:have a few towers in the shop:

the i9 is definitely overkill, though having more PCI-E lanes than the 8700k is nice when running 3 cards as you don't have any issues with the 2nd decklink not detecting sometimes. on the other hand clock speed is still king for CPU and resolume so getting those cores cranked up is a good idea..

I do own several decimaters md-hx which will be my hdmi to sdi to hdmi converters. Worst case I can just run my Roland v800 with the PowerPoint/keynote laptops and just send 1 signal to Resolume.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks

Re: POST YOUR GIG COMPUTER RIGS!
Why not skip all the HDMI/SDI conversion and go NDI? I have used it a few times and it works wonders.KREATIVO wrote:Thanks for you input, admiralperpetual wrote:the biggest problem you'd run into is scaling from the inputs/outputs of the powerpoint/keynote laptops I think - have had some issues when feeding stuff like that from a mac mini via HDMI to SDI adapters into resolume then out of resolume to another SDI to HDMI converter to a monitor - if it's a lower resolution display (under 1080p) it's fine but if it's 1080p+ text/gradients can be weird. it's doable but just need to make sure everything is synced up settings wise, might need some better sdi2hdmi/hdmi2sdi scalers like a decimator md-hx for example. the camera feeds should be no issue though!KREATIVO wrote:

Re: POST YOUR GIG COMPUTER RIGS!
I got a few min to kill ^^
I use a Fractal Node 202 case for travel because airlines.. It's for Resolume only. Built it weighs 14lbs. Same as my 2006 sli dell xps.

Uses:
Evga 1080ti ftw3
i3 7350k oc 4.5ghz 1151 socket
Asus z270I strix mobo mini itx
Corsair SF600 600w SFX psu
16 gigs gskill ddr4 3200 ram
2x Samsung 960 Evo m.2 500gb
Some corsair fans and a thermal right muscle heat sink I had to bust my but to find since its what I needed for the space limitations.
It doesn't sound too amazing but it works great for Resolume. Has more IO then a laptop. Good Wifi. More video outputs then a laptop. Some upgrade-ability unlike a laptop and a whole whole lot cheaper then most of your rigs.
Fits snug in this UDG trolly bag for travel. https://www.udggear.com/udg-ultimate-di ... nge-inside
