Hello there. Maybe I misunderstood some functionality in there but when I put some mask mode in a group of layer, it doesn't seem to work.
Can you point the correct usage I didn't get correctly ?
Thx

Re: Layer mask in group - Resolume 6
A masking layer in a Group will only mask the layers (below) in the same group.
If you'd like to mask layers which are not part of the same group, you need to move the masking layer out of the group.

Re: Layer mask in group - Resolume 6
I played around as well and found something.
My frind said its a feature and it should be this way, i´m not soooo sure about:
When i have a Layer on Mask mode and transform it via Slice Transform it still aply on the layer below on the composition level.
So it mask both. The slice it is transformed to and the composition (like the layer isnt transformed)
When i put it in a group and transform this it wont aply to the comp lvl...
Nothing wild and as i m thinking about i guess its a feature and it should be this way

Think of a group as a sub composition.He2neg wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:28 When i put it in a group and transform this it wont aply to the comp lvl...
What happens in the group stays in the group, until the final group texture is rendered.
Then, that final texture will be blended with the layer textures below, just as if it was a layer texture too.

Re: Layer mask in group - Resolume 6
actually, everything works fine. It's just that when I puted the mask layer in the group, resolume changes automatically the opacity. Moving the curser up solved my problem.
Thank's for the quick and complete answers.

Sure thats what i had expected.
But i expected as well that the "slice" transformed layer doesnt apply on the whole comp as mask.
