MacBook Pro 13" Thunderbolt 2 eGPU

Post by ManDerLa »

Hi. I've seen in "Resolume Performance Benchmark" MacBook Pro 13" (mid 2014) with thunderbolt2 eGPU NVIDIA GTX 970. I wonder what kind of enclosure is used for this setup? I have MacBook Pro 13" (early2015) and it doesn't make any sense without dedicated GPU. Seems this TB2 eGPU can much improve MacBook Pro.

Nvidia cards are still not officially supported so you'll have to run some scripts in Terminal in order use an eGPU.

I personally use and love the AORUS GTX 1080 8GB Gaming Box as an eGPU for my other setups but I haven't used it on our MBPs because they all have 2/4GB discreet GPUs and that works for us. It's a TB3 but it should be backwards compatible with TB2.
