MP4 Adobe Media Encoder Mac Audio issues

Post by Vjcheshire »

So when converting Mp4's with Adobe Media Encoder on my Macs, I've been running into some audio issues. Sometimes the audio is out of sync for videos, sometimes it is on for most of the video and slips at the end. Additionally it was adding some weird audio artifacts at the end that were not the happiest sounds ever. Original files are fine, AE renders it fine, Mpeg Streamclip seems to work good too. Just AME. Checked frame rates, sample rates, etc and matched them with the original file (59.94/ 48000/ 1080p) and messed around with all the audio functions in Resolume to no avail. Also on AME it doesnt seem to have a match source for the DXV3 plugin.

Any ideas or help other than doing it all in AE or SC?

Indeed, this happens when you set/use an output frame rate which is not a whole number.
Like for 29.97.

It's a bug in the DXV encoder plugin, we're working on.
What you can do would be to either encode to a whole number FPS like 25, or 30, or encode the audio and video tracks to separate files. You can merge them in Resolume to a single clip by dropping the video to a clip slot, then dropping the audio file to the same clip.
