Hey,
So I’m trying to create a projection mapping project that uses a piano where the sound of the different piano keys changes the clip that is being played. I am aware that this can be done with very little difficulty using MIDI mapping. However I am doing projection mapping as a subject and I’ve already done a project that uses MIDI mapping so double dipping isn’t an option. Anyone know of a way to do this?
Thank you so much in advance.

Re: How to trigger clip changes using external fft
The frequency separating will be your major problem.
You can put any clip in a separate layer, mark it as “fader start” and make the layer opacity as fft triggered.

Re: How to trigger clip changes using external fft
If you’re just using notes for triggering events (and not music) and don’t want to use MIDI, why don’t you create a TouchDesigner network that analyze the audio/notes and send OSC triggers?
Re: How to trigger clip changes using external fft
You could launch multiple clips in multiple layers and have the Layer Masters animated to External FFT.
Then you'd need to set each FFT range to react only to one of the note frequencies,
and enable the Layer Fader* start if you'd like.
This would fake the note triggering, and play each clip from the beginning.
*only available in Resolume 6 and up

Re: How to trigger clip changes using external fft
Can the clips be advanced by External FFT - all in one layer? In other words successive clips one after the other triggered by External FFT in one layer, or are multiple layers necessary? Advancing seems to be the trick here.

This is not possible natively in Resolume currently.pleasewatch wrote: Sun Jan 31, 2021 05:26 Can the clips be advanced by External FFT - all in one layer? But check out Chataigne https://benjamin.kuperberg.fr/chataigne/en it could do it for you via OSC, and it's free.
