frozen corner bug

Hi !

Some of my generative effects suddenly behave weird after a resolume update where i have a 'frozen corner' in the image.

I made all these fx in resolume 6 , and today some of them show this glitch square in the upper left corner.
Not sure to pinpoint a certain reason on whats causing it or which effect.

This glitch square also stays in Resolume preview window even if nothing is selected, only restarting resolume will cure that, once it started its there to stay.

Not sure if it's the same issue , but ive had situations in gigs where suddenly my mask files in layers had the same behaviour , they cropped to this upper left corner and stayed there whatever i did until i restarted resolume. Never got to logging that but seems similar :s

also this happens sometimes , fps number gets scrambled and stays that way until restart resolume

If these happen during operation and are not preset right at startup, there could be something going on with memory management.
Do these issues only happen with synesthesia running and sending spout?

No it also happens when just running resolume .
I think this happened after a resolume update , 2 months ago this comp was fine .

Could a faulty plugin also be causing this ? I like to use 'Acecellular" from william rood , and sometimes that one of the "ace-pack" starts to mess up my comp or even crash resolume. Rare but happens.

Hard to say, but it looks like two threads messing with each others memory areas.
You could try removing these plugins from the plugins path and do some tests.
If it happens again, then it's something else, if not, then it was them that caused this.

Happened again both friday night & saturday night :'(

So i have a png image , above it are 2 layers with fx stacks , and some of these effect stacks cause this bug , but i cannot pinpoint which effect :s
For example one stack will cause the bug , but many others using the same fx with different parameters/ orders will not cause it.
Sometimes i can play "bad fx stacks" for quite some time and nothing goes wrong :/
It's a really confusing problem

If it happens , and i clear the fx stack clip that started the issue , it's solved again immediatly.
Or i save & restart resolume and it's good too.

Also it doesn't matter if i have a mask on the layer / group / comp level , the frozen screen will be outputted in advanced output , no matter if there is a slice there or not.

This problem is happening on my MSI laptop which had the 'white frozen output optimus' issue.
I put it back on windows 10 with all latest drivers to see if that problem got solved about 2 months ago , and i don't notice any problems with optimus like before , fps is good, everything seems normal besides this.
Could that be the villain again ?

a side thng too , didn't want to start a new topic for this as i think its related..
the mini thumbnail of a .png mask i use is not visible anymore in detail.

I drop a .png mask on a layer/group/comp , instead of showig a mini but detail image of my alpha / red mask , it show a white background with a red square the size of my actual mask .
If i put the mask to alpha channel , it does function fine in my comp , only the preview thumbnail is weird.
If i put it on Red , it gives me a dimming cast , like it would be a grey mask, what doesnt make sense to me.

This was working fine some updates ago in resolume 6 , not sure what update it started but its been going on for some time here . I'll try to upload a screenshot soon.

Could you send us the compositions for both these issues together with some files so we can check if we can recreate?

Also could you send us a few screenshots of the mask issue you see?

Added a screenshot of the mask issue and the comp i am having both problems with .
Also if i copy the fx clips causing this issue to another comp / pc it comes with it ,

Didn't add any media files as its all resolume generative .
I tried recreating the issue today and it popped up in the 'forest generative' deck , layer 1 , fx clip : 'weird landscape 1' , column 9 .

There are others where it also sometimes happens , but sometimes this green thing happens immediately when hitting the clip and sometimes it doesn't at all or only after an hour or so

The Weird Linescape clip you mention only has a mirror quad and an edge detection for me whyn I load the composition, and it looks fine on my end. I see in the composition file that there is an AceTrails Effect on this clip though.
If you see the glitch only with clips that have these third party effects on them, try contacting the supplier of the effects.
