Ableton Link fails to connect

Thanks, i will look in to that. Another maybe silly question: I am trying to get my ableton link working again but i can't get it to work. Now i trie to read the manual but for some reason i can't click the hyperlinks in them. My mouse arrow changes in a text cursor when want to click on them. Do you know how to change that?

I want to know more about setting up midi over a network.

Ableton link should work out of the box, if you have both machines connected to the same network.

Hi,

It did work indeed but now it doesn't. Both mac's are on the same network, i enabled the AIC driver (bus 1) in MIDI set up on both machines. Selected MIDI input and CLock input in Resolume preferences. I suspect there is a problem with Resolume not being able to connect to the network at all. I have this strange problem that when i choose 'Check for updates' it freezes the menu and (i think) starts searching endlessly for a connection. The menu then is greyed out and i can't close the program and have to force quit it.

I know you have to permit resolume to make a connection but i can't find this is the menu's

I hope you can help me out on this.

You don't need midi for Link, it's a separate protocol entirely.
Try disabling the firewalls on the macs, in the OSX system preferences, Security.

I allowed resolume to make connections trough the firewall and the midi link is back. The ‘check for updates’ menu is still causing resolume to freeze though. I tried shutting down the firewall entirly but the problem remains. Any clues on what is causing this?

Are you on OSX Yosemite by any chance?
