Mac Pro upgrade attempt

Hey all!
I have an ASUS Rog with a 1070 that runs everything I need smoothly.

I had an older 8 core MacPro with 32GB of RAM that i wanted to use as a backup.
Has an SSD, and I just updated to a 570RX2 MSI 8GB, but I can't get more than 4 layers with Lines on it before I drop down to 30. Is there something i'm missing? I *feel* like my computer should be able to handle more layers, no?

Have a look at the performance benchmark topic for a similar setup like yours to compare: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11093

Check that Resolume is using the dedicated GPU as renderer, by enabling Show Display Info in the Output menu.
