I use a Novation Launch Control XL to control visuals. I like it because I travel a lot, it has the right combination of knobs, buttons and faders, and it's small. BUT subtle, gentle fades sometimes appear a bit jerky. Obviously the controller is outputting MIDI and the steps between numbers as handled by the faders/knobs appear to be too large to achieve a subtle fade or minor adjustment. Using the mouse or the automated fades within Resolume is much better, but I often have to adjust many channels at the same time, so can't do this often.
SO - any suggestions for either:
- software i.e. can I somehow smooth out fades and adjustments
- hardware i.e. a better controller with higher quality faders, knobs etc. (but it needs to be small!!)
Many thanks - Patrick

Smooth fades using midi controller
Re: Smooth fades using midi controller
You could try to limit the range of the midi shortcuts, to have the 128 steps in a smaller range giving you more precision: https://resolume.com/support/en/midi-shortcuts#range
Or find a midi controller that supports 14 bit mode.
