toggle direction problem

XP sp1
ATI 9250
1Gb ram
AVI
PICVideo MJPEG

I have a problem, assigning a toggle direction (active layer or layer 1,2 or 3) to a midi note, doesn't work. it recognizes the note when I assign it, re-assign it, but it doesn't affect the movie. whereas it works with a keyboard letter .
Other functions assign to midi notes or midi controlers work though.

Bug ?

Actually it'd be really great to have an option to use midi on&off to toggle, the "note on" reversing and the "note off" getting back to normal. Rather than having to press twice to get that effect.

For ex. it plays forward
press a note down : backwards, release the note : forward again.
What do you think ?

OK found the culprit : I had the USB midi in AND normal MIDI in through a cable (usefull when running several midi apps) at the same time so triggering was done twice therefore cancelling it.
