Hi
Would it be possible to have option to hold last shown frame of NDI stream before device went offline?
It happen many times that mobile devices are disconnecting and connecting back to Resolume repeatedly.
So on output we getting disturbing blackscreens strobo.
It would be better to have freezframe instead black screen.
thanks

Re: NDI last video frame for offline device
Tomorrow, I could build you guys an app that can do this. It would run off a TouchDesigner patch. If you want NDI or resolutions larger than 720p you'll need a TouchPlayer key for $300 otherwise the patch should work fine for smaller resolutions and non NDI sources.
The user can choose his/her input source from Spout, NDI, and Capture Devices.
The app will then pass that input through using the app's name via Spout and NDI.
The app will cache the input while passing it along to its output.
The user can determine how log of a cache he/she wants the app to capture.
If the input signal is dropped, the app will switch over to the cache and show a still image.
The user can then determine which image from the cache to use, by default it will be the last frame before the drop, but I'll give an option to scrub through, in case he/she wants to go back a few frames.
When the source connects again, the app will switch from the cache to the live input.
There will also be a manual override option to switch between the live input and the cache manually. In case your input keeps dropping a lot, this way you can keep it on the cache until you sort out your hardware problems.
Any interest in this? It's pretty straight forward and simple to build.

Re: NDI last video frame for offline device
It would be great to have such a opportunity, in case of signal drop to switch on last frame or some other content.
If you wouldn't mind to build such a patch it would be grate.
but what do you think how many frames delay will be in such chain?

Re: NDI last video frame for offline device
It's going to be a slider. You can choose what you think is the right amount

Re: NDI last video frame for offline device
I mean, i am afraid of latency when you chain ndi and spout.
But if you have time and energy it would be great to try your way until guys from Resolume do implementation.
thanks

Re: NDI last video frame for offline device
Got a working prototype that runs pretty dang good if i say so myself. I'm making it where users can scale up to 25 inputs....
Had this running along side Arena 7 with 10 inputs and i was still getting 60fps. since it was running through spout there was no latency.
Need to put some finishing touches on the UI since most of this was built in a sandbox.
I have a 6 hour drive to my family for turkey day tomorrow so i'll try to have this completed on Monday.

Here's a link to the app, would love to get some feedback on it.

Hej Arvol Thanks
I had no time to test it, BUT this week ill do it.
Will be back with update.
Thanks again for your effort !

Ahoj
I have checked your patch
the think is i can get spout to Arena but i cant get my ndi stream to Touch
I expect that my phone should stream to Touch and then texture is distributed to Arena, am i right?
Ndi Source type doesn't have any source name even i have device streaming.
thanks for help
