Buid server with nvidia GeForce 1080ti with blackmagic decklink quad 2
Hi guys, sorry for my english, i talk spanish. what technical specs should I take into account to build a sand server, 10/10, if I want to have a video card Gtx 1080i and blackmagic quad 2? How to solve the problem of synchronization?
Re: Buid server with nvidia GeForce 1080ti with blackmagic decklink quad 2
Hi.
The problem you will run into with the BMD cards is that there isn't any synchronization for them. Especially if you plan to use them with the 1080ti.
The BMD cards really shine when you need to send the same screen to multiple locations. Such as an install that has a company logo and schedule throughout 4 floors of a museum for example.
As soon as you try to use the BMD cards with a dedicated GPU there will be no sync in between them, and I have experienced sync issues from outputs on the same BMD card as well.
If you are needing a lot of outputs that need to be in sync, I would look into using a Datapath FX4 or multiple Quadro cards. The FX4 would be the cheaper of the two options.

Nice, but what is the best choice if HD-SDI is needed?

FX4-Sdi
Or FX4-HX4+Converter HDMI to SDI on each output (around 40$ each)

What about running a Quadro P4000 and the NVS 810 (8-outputs). They use the same driver.Arvol wrote: Fri Aug 31, 2018 14:59 If you are needing a lot of outputs that need to be in sync, I would look into using a Datapath FX4 or multiple Quadro cards. The FX4 would be the cheaper of the two options.

You do NOT want to use a NVS. Complete junk!massta wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 15:54What about running a Quadro P4000 and the NVS 810 (8-outputs). Well, I would only be using it because it has x8 outputs. The P4000 would do the heavy processing.
Note: the NVS 810 might be End Of Life phase and become hard to find.

The outputs will not be in sync, i would use a BMD SDI output card over the NVS card.
Re: Buid server with nvidia GeForce 1080ti with blackmagic decklink quad 2
The BMD SDI I/O cards sound good. Would they all be in sync?
Noted the NVS 810 and P4000 might not be in sync but outputs in each card should be, no?

No, the only cards that will be in sync are the quadro cards. the BMD and NVS cards are not hardware sync'd
