telnet serial port command output
telnet serial port command output
It is strongly recommended to add the tcp telnet command output control to the resolume stage. This is very useful for controlling equipment. love you

What!?! Lol
Is this 1998?
There are better modern methods of control for Resolume that are already in place. Please give those a shot:
OSC:

DMX [Artnet]:

VNC:

Re: telnet serial port command output
Alot of us use touch designer with resolume for these edge cases that the dev's should absolutely not be spending time on.

Re: telnet serial port command output
^ 100% agree. Which is why I learned TD, because some of these niche use cases isn't worth asking dev's to spend time on if only 0.001% of the users would find that feature useful

Going to bump this. I'm seeing a lot of TCI/IP hate, which I understand, but I assure you it's not an edge case request. Panasonic, Christie, Barco... these are not edge case companies.
(Unless I'm mistaken about the subject of this request? I'm talking about sending scripts over TCP/IP)
90% of the shows I work on involve me setting some kind of convoluted system to control the shutters on projectors, which is crucial in any theatrical/opera environment. It would help elevate Resolume up as a viable alternative to more traditional media servers if it had a feature to do it natively.
Thank you! You all rock.

What you're talking about and what the OP is talking about (Telnet) are 2 vastly different thingsFull Spectrum wrote: Mon Nov 29, 2021 21:22 Going to bump this. For what you're after, it sounds like Companion from Bitfocus (Streamdeck software) is the perfect tool for what you're after. You can even send OSC From Resolume to Companion to trigger buttons.

Re: telnet serial port command output
Thank you, Arvol! Yes, I thought I might be conflating the two.
Thank you, I do use bitfocus with my Streamdeck for smaller shows (and my elaborate D&D campaigns), but again, I would strongly encourage Resolume to provide a native solution. As much as I, the designer, can easily do it, there is a culture of simplicity and turn-key workflows that bigger theaters depend on. Most opera companies would laugh me out of the room if I showed up with a Streamdeck and asked somebody to press a button that wasn't spacebar.
