SSD suggestions and use cases

Howdy,

I am looking to purchase an external SSD with at least 1TB of storage. I plan on using this to house my content on both a day to day basis as well as taking it with me to use on venue Resolume machines.

My question is : What characteristics should I be searching for in an external SSD?

My assumptions are that I would want an NVMe drive with the highest read speeds that I can find, and a USB-C connector.

Am I missing anything? Are my assumptions correct? Any specifically recommended drives for Resolume - and why?

I've only been using the external Samsung SSD's for the past 7 years and they haven't failed me yet. Very fast transfer speeds. I have about 15 of them. Very solid investment.
