I have two outputs, one goes to the LED wall in the DJ booth and the other is to all the TVs in the building. Is there way to control the opacity of one output while the other is still on. I think it would be a cool way of shifting the focus of the visuals to a different area because the LED wall can be an attention hog at times if that makes sense
I tried sending certain slices to each output and then controlling the slices but it wasn't that effective.
Does anybody have any good solutions to this problem?
Control Output Opacity
Re: Control Output Opacity
You'd think I'd stumble upon on that page but sadly I did not and now I feel like a dummy
Re: Control Output Opacity
You're no dummy
There's thousands of little gems tucked away in Resolume. We can't know them all.

Is there a way to midi control the output opacity? It doesn't look like I can do it using the edit midi function
Re: Control Output Opacity
You can use a seperate layer for one of the outputs (slices) and then you bypass this layer so its out of the comp (ignore bypass on the slice) and then you can use a layer router on this layer so you put the content you want again inside the layer.... (all layers below if you want to have the comp again / or make a group
instead of the comp if you want to use composition effects (group effects))
https://resolume.com/support/en/sources#routing
then you can just use the layer opacity to adjust one of the outputs...
ask if you cant follow at some point
I see its quite short....

Re: Control Output Opacity
Only thing I couldn't get is how to make the comp effects. The layer router is routed to the layers below but now I can't do comp effects

Yep i thought of that as well.... do a group instead of the comp and use the effects for all on the group lvl.... its the same

So all layers below in a group and all the comp effects also inside the group, and the source of the layer router also the group..

Re: Control Output Opacity
Ok that makes sense. The grouping was the only part that was unclear. Thank you
