Midi Map Saves But Doesnt Work?

i extensively map my launch control xl &/ or launchpad mini.

i save the composition & exit the program normally.

when i re-open the program & make sure my devices are set up properly (in & out buttons highlighted in settings), none of the mappings work. when i go to Edit Midi, all the mappings are still there just as i set them up (unlike some previous reported bugs where the mappings disappear), but they just dont work. i can start mapping over but i spent over an hour on this last night only to have it all still there but not work.

this has happened 3 times this week & its driving me crazy. in fact it now does this if i dont even close the program but just turn the controller off & back on again. all mappings still there in Resolume. controller acting like none of them exist.

fyi both the LC & the LP are going through a powered usb hub as recommended. bypassing this hub doesnt change the behavior.

help?

Does toggling the In checkbox off and on again fix the input?

Do you save the composition after mapping?
If not, maybe another preset gets loaded.

Do you see the shortcut preset file get a new date in the Documents/Resolume Arena/shortcuts/Midi folder when adding a shortcut to it?

Could you please send us the Resolume log file via the feedback tab in preferences?

summer storm knocked my internet out (im using my phone to reply), but i will send the log file as soon as i can. in the meantime...

-toggling the check boxes does not work.

-yes i saved after mapping.

-the shortcut preset date is being updated.


-the log file has this entry several times which seems relevant...

Looks like the controller gets dropped in the system and re-appers.
Are your cables and connectors good and stable?
Or did you plug and reconnect it at this time?

brand new cables which i tested in traktor afterwards & they work fine.

and i did not disconnect them, but there is no difference in behavior when i do.

also happening to all midi devices. tried on a an old trigger finger with the same results.

I had something like this happen to me after midi mapping my APC40. What seemed to fix things back to normal for me was starting Arena and immedietly going to midi preferences and hitting refresh.
that sorted back all of my strangley missing mappings !

Strange, the shortcuts are working fine on my end, also with multiple controllers.

I've seen random disconnecting of controllers when other devices reset the USB bus. Are you using other USB devices besides the midi controllers?

Are the USB connectors OK?

i have this same problem but if i switch and plug the controller into another usb port i always have to plug into the same usb port if not nothing works.
