Hey there - i'm wanting to use wire to animate low density led sculptures. I tried to make a really low custom resolution to the number of leds I had available which was 50 leds by 36 rows so i entered 50 x 36.
When wire renders the shape, there's this really weird edge artifact. This seems to occur when I put the render shape node (or just output the rectangle to texture out)
So if you look at the edge of that red square, there's this weird bevel or i'm not sure the right graphics word for it. It should just be a regular square, shouldn't it?

What's your AA set to?
Re: Wire renders shapes weird at custom low resolutions
That's a 50x36 pixel sized texture scaled up a lot ;)
The faded edge you see is about 1 pixel of the original. Setting the AA to 0 should get rid of the fade.
What would you like to do with this though?

Re: Wire renders shapes weird at custom low resolutions
ah, admittedly - I'm new at this and I may just be experimenting in the wrong direction. We have an LED sculpture that are specifically those dimensions in terms of LEDs, so I thought "okay what if i type that resolution in and tried to make something in wire.
So yea, i'm actually not sure what the right approach is.

Well, you can always downsize right before your output.
But for saving resources, rendering at the low resolution in the first place could be the right approach.
