Hi!
Just like I said in the title I'm trying to find the smaller notebook capable of driving 2 outputs of 4K resolution (3840x2160@50).
Usually I run 6000x4000px composition and I currently have 2 x datapath fx4 driven by an Aourus 15 X9 (i7 8750H, RTX 2070, nvme). I'm running 3 simultaneous layers max and a few cheap effects here and there. I'm searching for the cheapest machine that can serve as a spare-backup for the system. Would a i5 nvme 8Gb ram notebook with a 1650 or 1660 can handle 2 x 4K outputs? I tried searching thru the benchmarks but couldn't find a similar setup. Suggestions are more than welcome.
Thank you all in advance
Cheers!

Re: Notebook for 2 x 4K Outputs
¡Hi! Thanks for the reply.
Hard to give you a number that could serve as reference (for you and for me) as we have a "funny" dollar/import situation here in my country (Argentina), so the prices in dollars do not match with the real international prices and also we have limited options for choosing.
For reference I'm looking at this machine (also is a good price point reference)
Asus Tuf Fx505dv Rtx2060 Ryzen7 3750h 120hz 1tb Ssd 16gb Ram. (aprox 1200usd here)
It does not have dual outputs, only one hdmi. If I can output 4k thru an usb 3.2 to hdmi converter/adapter, I go for it...but I'm not sure about that either. Anyway my target is the cheapest machine that can handle the job described in the first post of this thread.
Thank you for taking the time Arvol, your posts are always helpful and a good read.
Best regards

That's the same price as it is here in the US. So it sounds like $1,200-1,400 is your budget?
You can use TB3/TB4 or USB-C hubs to get 1-2 4K outputs. (depending on the protocol [and it's bandwidths] you choose)
For your budget, a Clevo build (Sager, Eurocom, PC Specialist) should have something that will work for you.
I'm a big fan of Razer, but they're also a few hundred dollars more than the Clevo builds, BUT, they're a LOT more rugged and durable and have better specs/performance and cooling.
Here's a few I'd take a look at:

Re: Notebook for 2 x 4K Outputs
Only to report back, I went with an Aourus 15G KC (10th generation i7, RTX 3060). Razer was to expensive here, and buying anything from outside the country will double it's cost (taxes) so I found this to be the better choice. It has a MiniDP and a HDMI port, both capable of driving the datapaths at 4K@50, and it has MUX switch (I had problems with optimus in the past, hate it since then). Its basically equivalent to the computer I'm using right now. Will test it and add the data to the benchmark spreadsheet.
Anyway, the question remains, Could a 1650 or 1660 (or TI flavor) laptop drive 2 x 4k monitors decently?
Will test that as soon as possible when I have the opportunity to get my hand onto one such configuration.
Thank you all for your time.
¡Salud!

Re: Notebook for 2 x 4K Outputs
I can, it just depends on how much stuff you're doing in the comp. if it's just a few clips and fx you should be fine using those GPU's
Re: Notebook for 2 x 4K Outputs
I'm a long time Mac user, based in the US, and my 2013 MBP just died so now I'm looking at gaming PCs specifically for Resolume, will only be used for that. What do you think of the ASUS 15.6" Republic of Gamers Strix G15 with 32GB of RAM and NIVIDIA 3070? Anything else that would be better in the $2,000 price range?
