Timeline BPM out of sync with effects BPM?

Spoke too soon, the same problem again while starting from scratch!!!
I assigned "on clip trigger" to the BPM sync and it worked initially, then it displayed the same problem that is shown on my video above. I can't select clip trigger OR phase lock. This makes it impossible to sync anything properly and reliably.

It appears that having loaded the faulty saved source preset to the new composition is what brought the problem to the composition despite it not being present on any clips anymore.

I am now starting 100% from scratch without ever loading the saved preset and so far it's working. I really hope this resolves it. I have a lot of rebuilding ahead of me.

So I rebuilt part of my shaper source preset, saved it, loaded it to a new clip, and the same problem returned. I didn't save my composition after doing this and I reloaded the previously saved composition but the problem persists.

Although the shaper setting behaves as if the BPM start setting is Clip trigger, the interface doesn't indicate this and now I'm unable to change it to BPM phase.

There's clearly a bug messing everything up big time. I'm on Windows 10 and Arena 7.7.0

As things stand I'm unable to continue my work as things keep breaking after a lot of work has been put into it
