best usb midi device?

what is the best midi to usb device out there that anyone has used? do you experience any latency because of the use of your usb port?

I borrowed an MAudio Oxygen8 which worked fine with no noticable latency. So, no, in principle there is no problem with using the USB port.

im using a DM2 (http://www.mixman.com/) with pdooms (http://www.pdoom.ch/dm2/) hack.

you can get a DM2 off ebay for US$25

i havent had any latency with the usb though, even with usb hard drives.

ended up getting an m-audio midisport 2x2. It works great! no latency - thanks for all your input everyone
