Hey Zoltan,
I've been doing some further trials.
The machine that is lagging... I am able to select windows audio devices as outputs - however no sound will play.
When I play through direct sound (it works) I have to change the Sample rate to 48k and buffer to 512 and it will play in sync, however this isn't ideal as they're not default settings.
I've reinstalled sound drivers, tried a fresh install of resolume...
Not sure if there's a permissions issue here?
Next machine, which works perfectly fine with windows device analogue outputs.
If I use 'dante via' as the sound output (Assuming this is also the case with other dante ouputs, but haven't tested yet) Audio is in sync while I have no display output selected.
Soon as I output the composition to an external monitor I start to get bad delay issues.
This doesn't always happen straight away, sometimes the videos have to be played a couple of times before this happens. If I clear the clip and add it back the delay persists.
I've tried both DXV & mp4, same issues.
When I close Dante Via and switch device back to 'windows audio headphone' all is well again.
Let me know if you need anymore info that can help
Audio playback problem
Re: Audio playback problem
Windows audio might be defaulting to the output on your Display connector.
Dante uses networking, and needs it pretty much realtime, so if there are not enough CPU cycles, then I can imagine dropouts can happen there.
Try increasing the audio buffer size / latency, in both the Dante app, and Resolume for better stability.

Re: Audio playback problem
So the problem being unable to output to a windows audio device...
In the windows sound settings per audio device uncheck both
"Give exclusive mode applications priority"
"Enable audio enhancements"
Problem Solved.
Will look into Dante buffersize / latency and post results.
Thanks for your help Zoltan.

Re: Audio playback problem
Just want to leave my bit here to...
I also encounter problems with unsync audioplayback.
But mostly with last minute client clips which where delivered in mp4/h264 or mov/proress.
I had setup the audio device to "DirectSound" ...there I had a round a bound 1 sec of a sync-gap.
After I changed to "Windows Audio" the problem was gone.
I totally forgot to report that, but after I saw this post here...it came back to my mind.
Sadly I don't know anymore which Res version I've used on this job. But I guess it was the newest version from 1 month ago.

Re: Audio playback problem
I have the same problem with audio. the problems began with the transition half a year ago to v7, in version 6 there are no problems with audio. problems appear on different computers, with different sound cards (I use different sound cards, focusrite, soundcraft, and the built-in sound card also has this problem), I tried asio and windows audio. There is a problem when playing a video clip with sound (in one file), and when playing video on one layer, audio on the second layer and starting with a column, and when combining video and audio from two different files in resolume. I mostly use dxv3 and a separate wav soundtrack, but the problem is present with mp4, and in dxv3 files with embedded sound. For half a year I have been suffering with this problem, nothing helps, the problem arises by itself, there is no pattern. resolume v6 does not have this problem, version 6 is fine. but I cannot use v6 for a number of other reasons and have to use v7. I've already failed a lot of shows because of this problem. developers, sort out this problem, please, it's terrible!

Re: Audio playback problem
there is a solution for this topic?
Re: Audio playback problem
So, there is still no solution for the AV sync on 7?
We still are using v6 because of this issue!

This topic is about Dante audio outputs. Are you having issues with Dante?barry wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 15:49 So, there is still no solution for the AV sync on 7?

Re: Audio playback problem
Hey Zoltán,
Not specific to Dante - to the audio in general on Arena v7.
Just like @lexx1063 mentions there are audio problems, we've had problems with sound cards, embedded sound on displayport and Dante all the same off sync behavior. And files aren't converted in Alley or other.
PS: And on v6 this problem doesn't occur.

Re: Audio playback problem
Hello,
Same problem here. Sometimes audio starts a few seconds late.
Video format is DXV with Audio. Using the latest Version of Avenue.
Soundcard is Focusrite Scarlett. Windows 10. Tested all possible drivers.
Would be great to fix this bug.
Best,
autopilot
