Resolume WIRE Node request: User-selectable input layer

Post by UON »

Ok so I made a time-displacement plugin in wire that delays each pixel of the layer the effect is on based on the pixel values of another layer. The effect is really cool and everything, but I have no way of letting the user choose which layer to effect the time displacement unless I make it a mixer!

With it being a mixer I only get one slider for controlling parameters

Would be cool to have a drop-down menu for the user to choose whichever layer they use to put their time-displacement masks on :)

I think this a very nice suggestion.... I'm also working on something where this can be a very handy.

Having more control on which inputs an effect/mixer takes is on our wish list as well. Having some routing options for the Texture In nodes can be very powerful.

This is not correct, if you look at the Layer properties panel all the extra parameters of a Mixer will be listed there.
If you look at the attached screenshot you see the extra parameters of the Pip (wire based mixer) listed on the panel.

Thanks, I realized that shortly after I posted haha oops!
But yeah I'm super stoked for being able to choose a custom input layer when it becomes available :)
