multi-screens sync multi-comps

Post by Merkavah »

Does Resolume has a feature (network feature?) to sync multiple computers?! So I trigger in comp1 clip number 1 and on another computer clip number 1 also is triggerd and previewed on exactly the same time.

This way I could film in HD, then cut it up (like a panorama) and spread it over 3 or 4 computers (3-4 beamers), VJ-ing it from one interface!

Please let me know if there's a sync option like this.

this feature isnt in resolume, but you could do it with a midi controller and a midi thru box, but i think midi out is being added to resolume eventualy, so then you would be able to do it.

there is not a sync option like this in resolume but you can do it by using a midi keyboard and sending that signal to multiple computers. this works really well for triggering but if you then let it play the videos will start to play out of sync eventually because even identical computers will run stuff at a sligtly different speed.

After seeing SHIRO TAKATANI at the Sonarama during Sonar.es 2005

I was thinking in the same direction but with one PC. :mad:
Can you trigger 3 seperate movies at the same time in the 3 layers. So that
movie A -> plays in -> layer 1
movie B -> plays in -> layer 2
movie C -> plays in -> layer 3
And all in sync

NEW FEATURE

Post by Merkavah »

Okay, so this feature should be in Resolume!

e.g. via a network Resolume should check all Resolume machines connected. It could recognize the slowest machine which will be the "veto machine" which sets the framenumbers and framerates.
The network feature should also update from the master computer all the other computers, so if you would drag a new effect, it will also pop-up in the other machines.

This way I could buy 12 machines and 12 beamers, do a little puzzeling in post-production. This way I could beam 2880x1728 pixels!

(yeah right, only if I would suck Michael Jockson's fat cock;)
